These gas tank adapter brackets fit 1982-2003 Harley-Davidson Sportsters. They use the stock Sportster gas tank mounting rubber grommets and hardware (not included) as found on 1982 & later Sportsters. You can find the Sportster gas tank mounting hardware here if you need it!
Our gas tank adapter brackets mount in place of your stock gas tank and provide convenient new mounts for a variety of custom gas tanks. This allows you to simply bolt a different gas tank in place of your stock one without having to modify your bike or weld new mounts on the frame!
The rear bracket can be flipped 180 degrees, giving you two center-to-center measurements, 15-7/8 inches and 16-5/8 inches. This allows these brackets to be used with any gas tank that has ‘D’ tabs with center to center measurement in this range, and you simply bolt the gas tank in place.
The threaded nut on each bracket that the gas tank bolts to accepts any 3/8″-16 thread bolt. These brackets are proudly made in the USA.

NOTE: 1982-1985 Harley Sportsters did not have rubber mounted gas tanks. If you would like to use our Gas Tank Adapter Brackets on this year range, simply use the stock grommets and mounting hardware from a 1986 & later Sportster, and these will bolt on to your bike no problem.
